Getting Started
By now you should have all of your course materials, a reliable computer, and a weekly study schedule. Here are just a few more things to do to make sure you are prepared for a successful class.
Navigate your Classroom

Connect and Network
Staying connected with your classmates is an important component of this program. Click ACCOUNT at the top of the page to set up your online biography, share your social media links (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), and upload a photo for your instructor and classmates to see. From here, you can also change your password, set up your preferred time zone, and edit your notification settings for email, grades, and assignments. Note: A tablet, such as an iPad, Kindle, or Galaxy, is considered a mobile device and should not be your only method of accessing the online classroom – a laptop or desktop computer is required.
Course Materials
- Review the list of required textbooks and other reading materials detailed in the syllabus
- Be sure you have the correct textbook edition(s)
- If any reading is from the library, be sure you can access it
Course Layout and Guidelines
- Review all eight weeks of the online classroom to ensure you understand the expectations, grading, guidelines, and deliverables for this course
- Know the basics of navigating your classroom and the tools you will use
- Each week, check the Class News for any important information from your instructor
